I know it seems a little soon, but Christmas decorations are already popping up in stores, so in this Again and Again Review we’re taking a look at two Christmas books. One for Moms and one for kids ages 3-7.
Simply Christmas by Tama Fortner is a busy mom’s guide to reclaiming the peace of the holidays.
If you’ve been around here a while you know I love Reclaiming things, so this book was right up my alley. Not just the word reclaimed, but also the concept of slowing down and taking the time to ponder, wonder and enjoy the Christmas season.
I can often get caught up in the excitement to do ALL the things and go ALL the places that I forget to enjoy the simple wonders of my kids laying under the Christmas tree staring at the lights.
Tama’s book is a 31-day coffee cup devotion to remember the simplicity, the silence, and the love of Christ’s birth. When I say coffee cup devotion, I mean you can finish reading these short but heartfelt devotions before you finish a cup of coffee. That’s one thing that I think is so sweet about this book. It’s not trying to give you more to do and read, but it stays true to its title. Simple. Christmas.
Truthfully one of the most powerful things about Christmas is how simple the first Christmas was. Take time to sit and wonder about the coming holiday season. It’s better to set the tone for December before it gets here.
How will you approach the Christmas season this year?
Tama's Press-out-and-Play Book My Advent Nativity is a fun and tactile way for kids to countdown to Christmas. The sturdy and colorful characters each have their place and purpose in the Christmas story.
The daily devotionals are simple and sweet for busy kids and the characters each point to the reason for the season.
This is a great addition to your Christmas traditions.
