The new year is just around the corner.
New opportunities, new choices, and new chances.
The New year is like a clean sheet of paper, just waiting to be written or drawn on. Which can be both exciting and terrifying.
But if one of your resolutions or goals for 2022 is to sit down with your boys and have a time to dig into God’s word, let me point you to a great book.
Solomon Says Devotional by Sarah Humphrey and Amy Parker is 100 Days of Wisdom from the World’s Wisest King. This intentional and focused look at Solomon’s proverbs is perfect for boys ages 8-12. The devos are short sweet and often humorous, which is a real win with my busy goofy boys.
After each devotional is a short little prayer and an activity (which could be optional- if you’re boys are getting rowdy- cause somedays they have the attention span, and some days don’t) But each activity is fun and very hands on. I can tell Sarah and Amy, know how boys operate, and each devo communicates God truth in a tangible manner.
These 100 devos really focus in on what it means to be a man of God and how to live out those convictions.
If you are looking for a new devo to do with you boy(s), this is a great place to start.
Amy Parker has written more than sixty books for children, teens, and adults, including the best-selling A Night Night Prayer, Thank You, God, for Mommy, and Thank You, God, for Daddy. She has collaborated with authors ranging from New York Times bestsellers to her very own son. Two of these collaborations—Firebird and Courageous Teens—are recipients of Christian Retailing’s Best Awards. But Amy’s greatest reward is being a wife to Daniel and a mom to their amazing sons, Michael and Ethan
